Beyonce is finally speaking out on the controversy surrounding the Kanye West outburst at the Video Music Awards. If you recall, he burst up onto the stage when it was announced that Taylor Swift won in the Best Female Video category and interrupted her speech, saying Beyonce deserved to win. According to PEOPLE, Beyonce recently spoke with O Magazine and explained, “Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award.’” But, she said, “When they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked.” At that point West got up and Knowles said, “And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, “Oh, no, no, no!’” So although Beyonce didn’t expect that kind of reaction…it seems like she doesn’t think it was that big of a deal!
