It’s so sad, but Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are officially over! So just what caused the breakup of what seemed like such a solid couple? It seems that Reese couldn’t balance a committment to Jake and one to her children! A source said, “When she was giving all of her energy to Jake, she felt like she wasn’t giving her kids enough.” “He was great with the kids, but she felt like he didn’t get the whole scope of what that entailed.”

Another issue was that Reese just wasn’t ready to take the plunge into marriage. A source says, “She couldn’t give Jake enough and she got cold feet. Jake wanted all of her.” Jake is said to be completely heartbroken over the split, which occured the beginning of December. Let’s hope these two can work it out! They were so sweet together!
